This got me on a search for modern ‘legible to the ear’ version of the Messiah.
After a week of no success, it just so happens that God seemed to open a door directly to a modern beauty: Isaiah 9:6, Isaiah 53:4, Revelation 11:15 – Handel’s Messiah [Movements 12, 24, 44] – Jenny & Tyler 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

So I was speaking with a dear Brother from a Catholic community, and he brought some interesting suggestions to the Songs section, (Canticles, the ‘Jesus Prayer'{though it’s not exactly Scripture}, Anglican Psalm Chants, etc), but he also reminded me of Handel’s Messiah, that I never added, so all week I didn’t find a single version that is, what I call, ‘legible to the hear’. As wonderful as ‘Messiah’ is, it’s not very helpful, or playable, if we can’t sing along or even recognize the words easily… then on Friday when J&T released their Verses song….. I see they have a song called ‘Handel’s Messiah’!!!!!! 🌈
Crazy, it’s better than I could’ve imagined. Covers 3 movements, and is just simply gorgeous. Now if the Lord would lead them to do the entire collection <3 :p
…but then…
it got me thinking of better ways to find versions like this.. and that let me to Young Messiah (both from 90 and 93)
AND one of the only recordings of it, is the last show they did, with a group & pastor from the exact same Church Community I stayed at while near Nashville last year participating in Scripture Hymnal Release concert!!!…
AND it is also the first ever concert by AVALON 😛 (from which ‘Testify’ is a guilty pleasure here and pretty much the only song my assistant and I have sang along together since we met 9 years ago)
